Marketing choices in the Refined app

Version: 1.3 · Last updated: 6 October 2026 · Controller: Refined Medical Aesthetics

We keep care and service messages separate from marketing. Your marketing preferences show whether each channel is on or off and why. You can turn each one off at any time.

Stay in touch

The app shows this wording with Yes, keep me posted and Not now:

Yes, send me offers and news by email, text and WhatsApp, and push. I can turn any of these off any time. Care and service messages continue.

Yes, keep me posted gives consent for email, text and WhatsApp, and push marketing. Not now records no marketing channel decision and leaves existing channel choices as they are. Both actions then ask your phone for push permission for care messages. Allowing notifications on your phone does not give marketing consent.

Your treatment history

We show a separate, optional box, unticked by default:

Use my treatment history to personalise offers and reminders

We use your treatment history for marketing only when you explicitly choose this and the relevant marketing channel is allowed. Either Stay in touch button saves this choice only if you tick the box. Leaving it unticked does not change an existing choice. You can change it independently in preferences. Otherwise, our offers and marketing reminders stay generic. Earlier bundled marketing choices do not grant this permission. We record the separate purpose, wording version and time. Hermes cannot read or change this choice.

Offers after buying or requesting a treatment

At checkout and when you request or book a treatment, we show:

We'll send you occasional offers about our treatments and skincare by email and text.

Below it is an unticked box: Don't send me offers. If you leave it unticked, we may email you after your shop payment completes or you submit your treatment request or booking, and text you if your account has a verified mobile. This is the soft opt-in under PECR regulation 22(3), with UK GDPR legitimate interests as the basis. It covers only our own similar treatments and skincare, never push or WhatsApp and never messages chosen using treatment or health history. A previous refusal or withdrawal blocks it. An unpaid shop order grants nothing.

Recorded clinic choices

If Pabau records your yes to email or text marketing and you have made no earlier app choice for that channel, we carry it over and explain it when you open preferences. We do not use its newsletter, phone or post settings as consent. The carry-over does not include push, WhatsApp or permission to use treatment or health history for marketing.

Your controls

What changed in version 1.3

Using treatment history to personalise offers and reminders now needs its own explicit, unticked choice. The marketing button covers channels only. Earlier bundled choices do not grant this separate permission. WhatsApp still needs wording naming it, and STOP remains effective until a new explicit yes under that wording.
