Competitions and prize draws
The short version
- Our prize draws run in the Refined app. Each draw's details (dates, prize, draw date and how to enter) are shown on the draw's page before you enter.
- Entry is free and no purchase is necessary. Every eligible person can enter each draw once, free, in the app.
- In our referral prize draw you also get one more entry for each friend you refer who has their first eligible treatment during the draw. Nobody pays for an entry.
- The winner is chosen at random, by computer, in front of an independent person.
- Prizes never include prescription-only treatments, and there is no cash alternative.
- Apple and Google are not sponsors of, and are not involved in, any of our prize draws.
1. About these terms
1.1 These terms apply to every prize draw or competition we run in the Refined app ("draw"). Each draw also has its own draw details, shown on the draw's page in the app before you enter. The draw details always include:

If the draw details and these terms say different things, the draw details apply to that draw. You can also ask us for the draw details of any draw.
1.2 The promoter is Rachel Storey, trading as Refined Medical Aesthetics (a sole trader), Double Row, Seaton Delaval, Whitley Bay, NE25 0PP ("we", "us", "our").
1.3 Apple and Google are not sponsors of any draw and are not involved in it in any way.
2. Who can enter
2.1 Draws are open to people aged 18 or over who live in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and have a Refined app account.
2.2 Our team, their households and anyone professionally connected with the draw cannot enter.
2.3 We may ask a winner for proof of age, identity and address before giving a prize.
3. How to enter
3.1 Referral entries. In a referral prize draw you receive one extra entry for each friend who:
- entered your referral code in their own Refined app account, under our referral terms (section 5); and
- attended their first eligible treatment at the clinic between the opening and closing times of the draw.
3.2 Prescription-only treatments and free consultations are not eligible treatments.
3.3 There is no limit to the number of referral entries you can earn, but each friend can only earn one entry, for one person, once.
3.4 Free entry: no purchase necessary. You do not have to buy anything, or refer anyone, to enter. Every eligible person can enter each draw once, free, by tapping "Enter the draw" on the draw's page in the app before the closing time. A free entry has exactly the same chance of winning as any other entry. Nobody pays for a referral entry either: your friend pays the normal price for their own treatment, and no price is ever raised because of a draw.
3.5 Clicking or sharing a link, installing the app, creating an account or booking an appointment does not by itself earn an entry. A referral entry is only created once the friend's treatment has been confirmed.
3.6 A referral entry is removed if the friend's treatment is cancelled, refunded or was not attended, or if the referral breaks our referral terms. Removals made after the closing time but before the draw also apply.
3.7 Taking part in a draw never requires you to agree to marketing.
4. How the winner is chosen
4.1 After the closing time, we allow the time shown in the draw details for treatments to be confirmed. We then fix the list of valid entries.
4.2 The winner is chosen at random from all valid entries by a computer process, in front of an independent person who is not connected with the draw. Every valid entry, free or referral, has an equal chance. We keep a record of the draw.
4.3 If there are no valid entries, no prize is given.
4.4 Each person can win only one prize in each draw.
5. Telling the winner and claiming the prize
5.1 We will tell the winner through the Refined app within 14 days of the draw, and may also contact them by email or phone. We will never publish a winner's treatment details.
5.2 The winner must claim the prize in the app within the claim deadline in the draw details. If the prize is not claimed in time, or the winner is not eligible, we will choose another winner in the same way.
5.3 We will give the prize within 30 days of it being claimed, unless the draw details say otherwise. There is no charge to receive a prize.
5.4 Prizes are not transferable and there is no cash alternative. If a prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside our control, we will offer a prize of equal or greater value.
5.5 If a prize is a treatment, it is subject to a consultation, and your practitioner may decline to carry it out if it is not suitable for you. If so, we will offer a suitable alternative of equal value. Prizes never include prescription-only treatments.
6. Publishing the result
6.1 We are required to show that a valid award has been made. On request, we will provide the winner's surname and county. A winner may object to this information being published or given out. If they do, we will still provide it to the Advertising Standards Authority if it asks.
6.2 We will only use a winner's name or photograph in publicity with their separate consent.
7. Fairness and changes
7.1 We may disqualify entries, and withhold prizes, where we reasonably believe there has been fraud, misuse of the referral programme or a breach of these terms. We will tell the person concerned and explain why.
7.2 We will not change a draw's closing time or prize once it has opened, except where circumstances outside our control make it necessary. If that happens, we will tell entrants in the app and act fairly towards everyone who has entered.
7.3 If you disagree with a decision about a draw, contact us and a different member of our team will review it. Our complaints procedure also applies. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
8. Your information
8.1 We use entrants' information only to run the draw, contact and verify the winner, deliver the prize and meet our legal obligations, as explained in our privacy notice.
9. Other important terms
9.1 Our responsibility to you. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Apart from that, our total liability to you in connection with a draw is limited to the value of the prize in that draw, and we are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable, for indirect or consequential loss, or for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.
9.2 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can bring them in Scotland or in England and Wales.
9.3 Revealing a reward in the app (for example opening an envelope) is not a draw or a game of chance. The reward is decided before you open it, under our rewards terms.
