Skin scan: scanning on this phone

What you are agreeing to
Your photo stays on your phone while the app guides your photo and describes how your skin looks. Uploading it for a written AI overview, saving results, sharing with our clinical team and sharing a photo are each a separate choice, and nothing is pre-selected. The scan is not a medical assessment. Your practitioner makes every clinical decision.
☐ I'm 18 or over and this is my face.
What happens during the scan
- You tap Continue in the app, then Ready to capture when you are ready. If the face guide cannot start, Take photo is available instead. This camera step is controlled by the app, outside the isolated scan frame. You can also choose an existing photo.
- It then measures how your skin looks in that photo: ten appearance concerns, each with a word band and a confidence level. It can also show neutral feature measurements if you choose to see them.
- Analysis then runs in an isolated frame on your phone, which cannot access your app account or open the camera itself. The photo, the face measurements and the 3D face map are held only in the phone's memory. They are not saved by the on-device scan. Separate AI or photo-sharing permission is required before a photo upload; face measurements and geometry are never uploaded.
- They are cleared when you retake the photo, when you leave the scan, when you return after 10 minutes in the background and when you sign out.
- The “Today | Illustration” view works only on your phone and says Illustration, not a prediction of your results. It does not soften expression lines.
What the scan is, and what it is not
- It describes how your skin looks in this photo. Light, make-up, the camera and your skin tone can all affect it, so each result shows how confident it is. The results are indicative only.
- It is not a medical device and does not diagnose any condition. Speak to a healthcare professional about any skin concern. If a mark is new, changing, bleeding or itchy, please see your GP.
- It gives no beauty score, no "skin age" and no comparison with other people.
- It never decides whether a treatment is right for you. Only your practitioner can, at a face-to-face consultation.
Who can use it
The skin scan is for adults aged 18 and over, and only for your own face. Please don't scan anyone else.
Your choices
- This consent lets you scan. Nothing is added to your saved scan history unless you separately save or share. An AI overview and clinical photo sharing each need their own choice; the AI overview notice explains the provider’s retention.
- You can stop at any time by leaving the scan; the photo is cleared.
- We record that you agreed to this text, which version and when, so we can show your consent was given.
Why we can do this
We rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) and, because skin information can relate to health, your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)).
Our privacy notice explains more, including your rights. Questions: [email protected].
